About a week ago, our agency posted the profile of a little girl to their Waiting Child list. This list shows children available for adoption, and interested families can request more information and to be matched for adoption.
About a week ago, we asked for more information about the pretty girl. While she is a year or so older than what we had originally discussed, she really seems to fit our family... between the late summer birthday, the Angry Bird on her shirt (Adam was excited), and her love for outdoor activities. And who could say no to her sad, soulful eyes?
A few days ago, we asked to be considered as a match for the pretty girl.
A day ago, we heard that several families have asked to be considered.
While I remind myself that God has a plan, that there is a little girl out there destined to be our daughter, I still grieve over the pretty girl. Chances are very good that one of the other families already has a dossier in China. Those families will be considered first.
In about a week, we will know if the pretty girl is meant to be ours.
